Chapter 10: Separation in Lieu of Trial by Court-Martial
This chapter is not and cannot be a command initiated chapter. This chapter is requested by the soldier through the U.S. Army Trial Defense Service. In order to qualify to request this type of chapter, the soldier must have committed an offense or offenses, the punishment for which, under the UCMJ and the MCM, includes a bad-conduct discharge or dishonorable discharge.
